PM, T=76, cooling after aft. Rains
As usual, the owls are roosting in the tree outside the shop window.
8:10P, F drops down from her invisible roost perch to the dead branch/defecation perch; followed about 3-4 min later by the M; M flew E, the F same.

Spring 2018. First nesting failed, when female abandoned her eggs following a squirrel intrusion on the rainy/stormy night of March 29. In the first week of May, the male owl began "advertising" the two nest boxes again with his special "box call", sometimes entering the box to do so. However, as of May 10, the female has shown no interest. Renesting looks unlikely at this point. |
